REITs’ Support Helps Build New Family Home in Honolulu

A traditional Hawaiian blessing on April 28 marked the start of construction on a new home by the Honolulu Habitat for Humanity using funds donated by REITs in Hawaii to the Nareit Foundation.

Since 2018, the Nareit Foundation and Nareit Hawaii have awarded $2.2 million in grants to 26 nonprofit organizations statewide to support affordable housing projects and community charities. Nareit Hawaii awarded a $30,000 grant to the Binhi At Ani Filipino Community Center to support the expansion of its Bayanihan Feeding Program, the beneficiaries of which are seniors on fixed incomes who have free meals prepared and delivered to them at home.
